Marvel Revolt: Nova

Like all children, Peter Parker was fascinated by the idea of going into outer space. It didn't help matters that he was a brilliant child with a father that worked at Osbourne Aerospace ( a division of Oscorp Industries). Late one night when Peter was about 5, Peter's parents dropped him off with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben. His parents left, and never returned. In a few days, they recieved word that Richard and Mary's plane had crashed....no survivors.
Peter grew up, a reclusive child, preferring to steal himself away in books of all kinds, projects of all natures, and learning about everything. At the age of 15, he was overjoyed to hear his father, Richard, was being celebrated at the new Osbourne Aerospace Museum. The feature was going to highlight past R&D that led to breakthroughs of all kinds. Of particular interest was the Xo Armored Nexus Defense Aerial Rocket Suit, or simply the X.A.N.D.A.R. Suit. The final project his father and his father's partners: Roman Day and Dmitri Smerdyakov (secretly, the Russian spy aka The Chameleon) were working on was going to be shown to the public for the first time. Peter begged his Uncle Ben to let him skip school the day of the event, so he could be there in person. Ben refused. He told Peter that it was a waste of his time. That Peter had a gift, his brillance. That gift was to be used wisely, it was his power. "And with great power comes great responsibility."
Peter skipped school to attend the grand opening where Dr. Day praised his former partners for their vision, but lamented the fact that Oscorp pulled the project's funding after Richard died. Dr. Day then revealed that he had made a breakthrough on the suit's design, and that they were moving forward with the project, wishing that Richard and Dmitri could be there to share in the achievement.
"Oh, but I am..." came a voice from the back as Dmitri stood aiming his weapon at the Dr. Dmitri fired, mortally wounding Dr. Day, who fell from the stage. As people rushed to help, a large man made of diamond burst through the back wall. It would later be told that this was one time mob-strongarm Flint Marko, who had volunteered to undergo a study by Dr. Smerdyakov; he now went by the name: Diamondhead. He started destroying the stage and endangering passersby, looking for Dr. Day.
Peter ran out of the auditorium to the backstage area, where amidst the confusion, he saw a wounded Dr. Day. As he went to help him, a voice from inside the doctor's coat said "Parker, Peter, DNA recognition table 317. " The doctor's eyes lit up. "You are the son of Richard Parker?"
"Yes, sir..."
Dr. Day started furiously explaining that he was no ordinary doctor. He was actually an alien named Rhomman Daye, from the planet Xandar. That Richard found him when his ship crashed, and helped him secure a life on Earth. As Peter's mind was exploding from revelation after revelation, the doctor said "Here" and gave him 3 discs. "Lastly, Peter....your mother and father are not....ARGH!" Dr. Daye was blasted by and energy beam from the Chameleon. "Give me the discs boy..." the Chameleon said lowering his aim to young Parker.
"No." Peter said and a bright light immolated his form, consuming it, transforming it into an armored hero. The Chameleon fired and the beams bounced off. Peter lunged forward and shot at the Chameleon at super speed knocking him out. Peter was about to secure the Chameleon, when the screams of the crowd drew his attention toward Diamondhead. Petercharged at him. He swiped at Peter and missed. Peter assailed the goon with a flurry of punches and strikes aimed at disabling the monster. Finally he caught Marko's arm and threw him into the bay. When Peter went backstage he saw the EMTs taking Dr Day away, but no sign of the Chameleon.
Peter changed back and raced home. As he approached the house, he saw the door hanging from the hinges. He instinctively transformed again and raced in to find the Chameleon holding a gun to Aunt May, and Uncle Ben.....lying on the floor, shot.
"Well little one, are you ready to give me the discs now?"
Before the lips pressed together for the last word, Peter was atop the Chameleon, raining fists of vengence as fast as the tears fell from his eyes.
The police came and took Uncle Ben's body away. SHIELD came and took the Chameleon away. Peter sat in the arms of his Aunt sobbing.
The next morning, as he awoke. Peter came down to see his Aunt in a black pants suit, with sunglasses on. "Aunt May, I know I freaked you out with the whole armored hero thing, but..."
"No need Peter, its why your Uncle didn't want you to go to the opening. We knew about Dr Day, about the breakthrough, and about you being the only person who can operate the discs of the XANDAR suit. We were trying to spare you our crazy life."
"Your life....what?!?"
"I am the Authorized Unit Network Taskmaster, designate May. You are now Nova 317. Your training begins immediately Peter.....well after breakfast....Have some wheatcakes dear."
